What Are Verse Scraps?

Scripture, written by hand and left to be found.

A Verse Scrap is simply a Bible verse written by hand on a small piece of paper and left anonymously somewhere appropriate for another person to discover.

There is no special paper to use, no perfect handwriting required, and no particular verse to choose. A Verse Scrap can be neat or messy, carefully cut or roughly torn. What matters is the Scripture — and the possibility that someone may find those words at exactly the right moment.

Why handwritten?

Because handwriting makes it personal.

In a world filled with screens, notifications, links, and posts, a few handwritten words on an ordinary scrap of paper feel different. Someone took a moment to choose the verse, write it down, and leave it behind.

No algorithm. No notification. Just one person quietly leaving Scripture for another.

Why anonymous?

Because the person leaving it isn't the point.

There is no name, social handle, website, explanation, or expectation of thanks on the scrap. You may never know who finds it — or whether it mattered to them.

That's part of what makes the idea beautiful.

No two need to look alike

Ordinary paper. Ordinary handwriting. Scripture worth sharing.

These are real Verse Scraps. Some are torn from notebook paper. Some are larger, some smaller. Some handwriting is neater than others.

That's exactly how it should be.
